Pat Buchanan Praises Obama’s Speech but Criticizes Sykes’s Monologue
May 9th, 2009
Conservative commentator and former candidate for the GOP presidential nomination Pat Buchanan said Barack Obama’s speech to the WHCD was well-done and well-delivered. Speaking on MSNBC, Buchanan particularly praised Obama for poking fun at everyone, while Wanda Sykes, Buchanan said, was “over the top” because of some harsh jokes at Republicans’ and conservatives’ expense. Other MSNBC commentators thought Sykes at times might have been controversial.
Ignorance breads ignorance, why comment…
Isn’t this supposed to be the night where pretty much anything goes.
Wanda Sykes was fantastic and Buchanan should remember that they were jokes. Well, OK, maybe the Rush joke was more of a hope than a joke.
Brilliant! A great evening with good humor.
Of course Buchanan would say that, he is a Republican hate monger just like the rest. I have not heard a Republican say anything good about President Obama to date and I don’t expect that I will.
Pequinsu-You have nothing to worry about–you would never be invited. You might want to learn how to spell. By the way, this was pretty tame compared to the last two WHCDs done when Bush was in office.
Sykes is a comedian not a politician or journalist-it is her job to be controversial–she did just find and by the way told the truth.
If I had been there I would be to embarrassed to admit it !!!! TASTELESS, CLASSLESS OVERALL DISGUSTING SHOW FROM ALL THE HEAD TABLE !!!!
