It is important that the Fourth Estate have the opportunity to celebrate and interact with one another, publishers, sponsors, government officials and others. The celebrity presence is always fun as the stuff of Washington is serious and rather somber business in these tough economic times. I for one found it lovely the way Lally Weymouth greeted all of her guests to the Newsweek/Post party and was thrilled to meet John Meecham who did such a fantastic job with political coverage on air and in print throughout the endless Presidential campaign. Most industries have parties and conventions why not this one? Thank you for sharing.
