The White House Briefing Room, named after President Reagan’s press secretary, James Brady, is a small theater in the West Wing of the White House.

The White House Press Secretary gives daily briefings to the news media from this room — and sometimes the President uses it to addresses the press as well.

The room was a swimming pool until 1969, when President Nixon converted it into press offices and the briefing room. The room was closed for renovation between August 2006 and July 2007.

We visited the West Wing and were able to go into the Briefing room. It was a great experience and we would love to go back. The dedication to James Brady really touched us. The history of this room is incredible.
